I posted the following entry on another blogsite almost two years ago.

“I’m a huge fan of microwave popcorn. Next to heating up vegetarian chili, I think it’s the only reason I own a microwave. My personal favorite is Pop Secret Homestyle, Land O’Lakes butter and real salt crystals. It’s delicious! What does this have to do with zen you ask? Well, it’s all about the unpopped kernels. There’s a very fine line between minimum unpopped kernels and popcorn flavored charcoal. You have to choose the exact right moment to stop the popping process which is a very zen decision to make. The ultimate goal of course is popcorn nirvana, no unpopped kernels. Some say it’s a myth but I’m a believer. My personal best is two unpopped kernels and I’ve achieved three on a couple of occasions. I hope to reach popcorn nirvana one day. It’s gonna be beautiful, casually enjoying a bowl of popcorn and then I look down and see no unpopped kernels. I’ll have to think of an appropriate way to celebrate. I only hope I’m watching a decent movie when it happens. How about you? Popcorn favorites, personal best, favorite toppings?”

I’ve since reached popcorn nirvana with a bag of Orville Redenbacher’s Kettle Korn. It was much less impressive than I thought it would be. Good popcorn, though.
