There’s no greater pleasure than taking something that’s been neglected or broken and bringing it back to life. It gives me such an immediate sense of accomplishment. I’m sure it’s related to something in my psyche about bringing a state of order to chaos but I’ll leave the psychoanalysis to someone better equipped than I. A few of the things I’ve repaired in the past include; a vacuum, lamps, toilets, a blender, an oven, and several motorcycles. Today, NYC surprised me with a perfect subject for my care. I found the awesome lamp pictured below sitting out by the curb while on a shopping excursion. It’s needs a little cleaning up and TLC but it should be fairly easy to take care of. I love its design, clean and modern without being cold. I just need to find an appropriate shade for it. Something tall and tubular with a bit of color should do just fine.
