I work for a major museum in the city. Every day as I come and go I must pass scores of tourists many of which are taking pictures. It occurred to me that I must be in the background of lots of these photographs. I’m not sure how I feel about that. I hope there’s no truth to the belief that photographs steal your soul.

Ya know what’s really funny?
I was thinking yesterday after making a point to smile big in the far background of a tourist photo on Congress Avenue that we all must spend time as guest stars in vacation photos.
I think a quick review of Hollywood answers the stolen soul question, my friend, start wearing tin foil.

Ok, so thinking about all the tourist pictures that fill my vacation catalogs I now feel like an involuntary superficial puppet master carrying with me tiny tidbits of various souls. And now one thought comes to mind…“With great power comes great responsibility.”.
ARG! This has made me think WAY too hard for a Friday. Thanks Michael…
