Escalator Etiquette
1. Stand right, walk left. It’s only four words so please try to remember it.
2. Take up two steps if you choose to stand right, preferably with one foot on each step. This will keep you out of the personal space of others and them out of yours.
3. The exit of the escalator is a place for decisions not questions. If you don’t know where you’re going, leave the area immediately around the exit and find a nice out of the way spot to figure out where you’re going.

can i add, that while walking up and down the stairways in the subway, or anywhere for that matter, one must always stick to the right?! why do people not understand this? there’s two-way traffic! bah! and i hate people who converge right at the subway entrances to talk on their cellphones.
