Both yesterday and today dawned cool and dry in NYC after what seems like weeks of steamy weather. You don’t get too many days like this in July so I took advantage and walked to work both days. My route starts at 53rd and Lexington and continues on through Central Park. I haven’t done it in a couple of weeks due to the heat/humidity and I’m glad I did because it felt really good both physically and mentally.
There were many people walking their dogs in the park and it’s always a treat to see them romp and play. The dogs that is, not the people. Two different guys owned great danes and it was quite the spectacle when they met. The dogs took huge giraffe’ish loping strides towards each other in their joy of meeting. They then proceeded to chase each other around like mutant puppies. It’s one thing to see a couple of yorkies meet(a common sight on the U.E.S.*) but something else altogether with an animal 3-4ft tall.
The nice weather is supposed to continue through the weekend so maybe I can get some more walking in or maybe even a bike ride.
