Hey, I’m Gonna Ride My Bike

A while back, I posted about a crazy bike excursion which eventually took me all the way around Roosevelt Island. It was a very wordy but amusing tale of an over ambitious and inexperienced recreational cyclist, me. My biggest regret from that trip is not that I rode much further than I should have but that I forgot to take my camera along to record it.
I needed to get some cash this past weekend. Not wanting to pay ATM fees, I used the web to find a branch of my bank near me. It turned out that there was one in Long Island City. That’s the same area of my previous ride so I took my camera along and documented the errand/adventure. I was much more prudent with the extent of my biking skills(my butt was very grateful of that) and didn’t travel nearly as far which cut down on the comedy factor but I got some nice pics.
All the photos you see below were taken in Long Island City which is the southwestern-most neighborhood in Queens. The starting point for the trip was my home base of Greenpoint, the most northwestern neighborhood in Brooklyn. I started taking snaps when I got to the Pulaski Bridge. There’s a few shots on my flickr page that I didn’t post here if you want to check them out.
