On the Decks
Tom Petty “Highway Companion”
-His new album is damn good especially the first track.
Cut Chemist “The Audience’s Listening”
-Just got it but I’m pretty sure I’m gonna love this turntable masterpiece.
Various Artists “Future Retro”
-Modern remixes of New Wave classics. A little uneven but overall it’s pretty great.
My Morning Jacket “Okonokos”
-Another new one that I think I’m really gonna dig. Sensitive indie rock.
On the Shelves
Cormac McCarthy “All the Pretty Horses”
-Almost gave up on this modern western but I stuck with it and now I’m really into it.
Peter Lynch and John Rothchild “Learn to Earn” and “One Up on Wall Street”
-I want to build wealth and these two books are helping me with choosing the right stocks.
Jonathan Lethem “Motherless Brooklyn”
-Decent post-modern take on the classic detective story. The protagonist has Tourette’s syndrome and the story is told in first person.
On the Screen(the small one)
Stuart Saves His Family
-Funny and accurate view of a typical screwed up American family. Not usually a fan of Al Franken but he was brilliant.
Entourage Season Two
-Brain candy, nothing more. Jeremy Piven kicks ass though.
Arrested Development Season Two
-Sidesplittingly funny, really. Tony Hale as Buster is the funniest TV freak since Kramer and the young actor who plays George Michael has unbelievable comic timing for someone that age.
Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit
-So good that I bought it. Cute, funny, scary, it’s got it all.
Sidenote: Watching TV shows on DVD rocks, no commercials.
