Go Vote

I LOVE my polling place. It’s the Express Lane of voting but without the scofflaws that ignore the “12 items or less” sign. There hasn’t been a wait either time I’ve voted there. It’s a singular pleasure to do my civic duty but not be put out about it. Kinda like being summoned for jury duty but not getting chosen for a jury. Sweet.
I’m not sure why that particular polling place is so quiet. It could be that I vote at a time when most people are at work. Election Day is a paid holiday at the museum where I work so I can vote at any hour of the day. Makes me wonder how many of my co-workers actually vote. I hope that most would and I hope that you will to.

I voted in “early” voting polls here in H-town. Bah hum bug…I’m at work today.
I could of had the whole day off if I would just trade 4 hrs of my time at a poll station & hold up a “Vote for Prop G” sign! Couldn’t do it…too busy to take today off (except for blogging). Prop G is about ‘airlines’ being able to grow at the airport without increasing property taxes & such. We even had an old fashion pep-rally last Fri afternoon on the front lawn of our HDQ bldg in downtown H-town….mayor was there to push prop G and other prop’s currently on the ballot. loads of fun…hee hee.

I voted after a day of teaching. My precinct at a nearby church was bustling…hope the “bustlers” were Democrats and voted correctly!
