Today was my bi-annual cleaning at the dentist. Funny things usually occur to me when I’m in situations such as that. I’ve no idea why. It’s a perfectly serious procedure and all I can do is think funny thoughts.

What occurred to me today is “I wonder what kind of occupational hazards a dental hygienist deals with? Getting bit?” Guess what? According to my hygienist, they get bit. She said she can usually see it coming and get her fingers clear but sometimes she gets nipped. I followed up with “Adults and children?” and she said yup.

So there you have it, watch out for your fingers if you’re thinking of getting into the dental hygienist game. I wonder if they cover that in dental college?
