The Karmic Wheel Swings Around Shoe-Wise
Posted by thenextstopwillbe under Whatnot
Longtime readers may remember my tale from last year of an online shoe purchase gone horribly wrong. How wrong? Let’s just say that blood was involved and move on. I’m a big believer in karma though so it was only a matter of time before what was wrong would be made right again. It took over a year but the gods of online shoe purchases finally smiled on me in a big way.
I spotted a man on the subway with a rooster on his sneakers a couple of weeks ago and thought they were the coolest shoes ever. I mean, who puts a rooster on shoes? I excitedly described the sneakers to *E* later in the evening and she knew the brand right away, Le Coq Sportif, so it was off to the internet to see if I could find a pair with nary a thought to my previous experience. This was less a trust in karma than a stubbornness on my part to continue shoe shopping online.
A quick search revealed that Shoes.com had many different types available. I narrowed the options down to two and got some advice from *E* and Anita to help with the final decision. The vote was unanimous, it was the Le Coq Sportif Race pictured below.
Shoes.com made the buying decision easier because they offer free return shipping if they didn’t fit or I didn’t like them. That kinda negated the chance for any bleeding on my part so I ordered them and patiently waited for them to arrive while hoping for the best.
How shall I put this? These shoes are as good as the ones from last year were bad. I LOVE them! They fit great, are light as a feather, breathe well, and are super comfortable for walking and riding my bike. My thanks go out to Anita, karma, and especially *E* for helping me to be the guy with a little rooster on his sneakers.

A dirty heel and a toe smudge?? That just shows you use them instead of just photograph them.
