The headline above is the entire content of a most entertaining bit of blog comment spam that I deleted this morning. Spam is a PITA but it’s nice when it makes me laugh. Most of the time it doesn’t though and I’m grateful for the weapon that I have to fight it.

Comment spam is similar to email spam. It’s created by software that looks for blogs on the internet then posts fake comments with all the same types of links and whatnot as you see in email spam. It’s a nuisance but thankfully WordPress has an outstanding spam prevention tool called Akismet that does an amazing job of catching all the chaff. It flags the fake comments as spam and I just have to review them then delete it all. Easy peasy.

I apologize if you read this post thinking I was gonna talk about sheet metal production… in Maine. I’d love to discuss it but I’m not really qualified(thank God!), perhaps Google can help.
