Louise Bourgeois at Storm King

Storm King Art Center is an incredible outdoor sculpture park about an hour and a half upstate from New York City. My department at work went there on a field trip last fall and as luck would have it, their special exhibition at the time was Louise Bourgeois. She’s probably best known for her spiders but I quite liked this piece, Eye Benches II.
It’s as if the landscape is staring at you.
But if you get freaked, you can just go around to the backside and take a seat to contemplate your feelings.

One of her spiders was displayed at the Meijer Gardens a few years ago. I tried to find the picture I had but couldn’t locate it. The spider was amazing.

nice. instead of mom having the proverbial eyes in the back of her head, now she can have giant eyes in her ass? those are awesome.
