Starbucks Introduces Coffee

Introduces? Then what’s that brown stuff they’ve been serving for the past 30+ years?
This is an advertising insert from the New York Times last week for Starbucks’ new Pike Place Roast coffee which is what the “introduces” is referring to. The copy for the ad just struck me as funny. The insert contains a card for a free 12 oz. Pike Place Roast on every Wednesday through May. Everyone likes a free cup of coffee, even smart aleck ad critics.

makes sense to me. i always figured they were actually brewing diamonds or angel dust or something. wonder how much they’ll charge for regular “coffee” when the freebies are gone?
