Agora: Sculpture by Magdalena Abakanowicz
Another set of photos from my trip to Chicago. This sculpture, titled “Agora”, in Chicago’s Grant Park is by Magdalena Abakanowicz and consists of 106 iron cast headless figures.
It’s a bit spooky being amongst the forms. I can’t imagine what it must be like after dark.

American Lock
My American Lock long shackle padlock. I was playing around with my Gorillapod tripod and liked how this photo came out. The stainless steel looks really nice against the wood grain.
Combine this lock with a Kryptonite bike chain and you can almost keep your bike from getting stolen in NYC.

Jeff Koons at the Met

I can’t decide if I like Sacred Heart (Red/Gold) better or Balloon Dog. Regardless, they’re both a sight to see.

Another Yayy Bicycle, Boo Subway Post

Ps. I don’t mean to sound cold-hearted about the unfortunate individual who was hit but [...]

The First Annual Tour de Queens
Joshua and I participated in the first annual Tour de Queens yesterday. The course ran for 20 miles and mostly followed the borders of the borough of Queens. The forecast for the day was 96° and humid and it proved devastatingly correct. The heat was BRUTAL!!
How bad was it? You remember that previous post where [...]

A Trip to Superdawg
Bryan and Brian were kind enough to take me to a Chicago institution on my recent visit, Superdawg! This classic drive-in has been family owned and operated since 1947. They make a darn good dog there with lots of trimmings on it and the service is excellent. I forgot to get my $10 change and [...]
